Materials Modeling
Medical devices consist of multiple materials and each constitutive material model must be characterized correctly for a successful analysis. Insight Simulations works with materials ranging from isotropic plasticity to more advanced formulations including nitinol and strain energy functions.
Blood Vessels
Many medical devices interact directly with blood vessels. The motion of devices is a function of the cyclical variation in the blood pressure and the physical characteristics of the vessel that are unique to its function and the location in the human body.
Regulatory Submissions
Insight Simulations writes or assists in the preparation of formal regulatory documents related to the structural analysis of medical devices.
Finite Element Software
Analysis simulations are built and run using ABAQUS or ANSYS commercial packages. MSC Marc is another possible code although Insight Simulations does not have a current license.
